I'm sorry to say that I don't actually have the knowledge to set up the online library myself. But as there are several here who know far more about such things than I, one of you can volunteer and set everything up. Seeing as how this is the weekend, I'll wait till Monday to post topics to research. If we decide that one of the officers should be given this job instead, I'll gladly step down and let him do it (unless he happens to be me )

I agree that we can put someone to do "permanent" research work, it is imperative that cooperation between members is a reality, and any contribution should be welcome.
As to how we can start a library, since we are groups isolated from each other, the best option is to operate online. I have considered Google Drive as an option, though I don't know if a collective database can be made on Drive. If so, it is a good option. Backups in a computer disk drive, or an USB, should also be considered in case of data loss.
Then, we must add what some may have already contributed. For instance, me. Videos, PDF formats and machine blueprints are in my collection, and I am willing to share them.
After that, defining our potential needs, and what should be research next, is necessary.
Do you like the plan?

I'm quite familiar with Google Drive, actually, but I was also thinking more along the lines of your online library. Google Drive might work at first, as long as everyone here can access it to put stuff in.
As for what to research, I was thinking about beginning with such topics concerning economics, history and religion. I'd like there to be at least one history and one religion topic each week, just because those two are extremely important. Other topics could include writings of the ancients and things like that. I found a site that had quite a bit of Roman literature in Latin. I'll have to see if I can find it again.

Can Google Drive be used to share or collectively own files? If so, I could create a copy of my own library and share with others. Then, as all the other members contribute more, the library begins running.
I agree that economics, history and religion are important, however, science and engineering deserve attention too. I can take care of those fields, and I have a subject good at mathematics so he can help me once I contact him. I can help you provide what I can.
The matter is, maybe Google Drive is our best option right now. I can use my google account used for Trebian mail to participate. What we need to do, is to create a folder that everyone must be able to look at and contribute. I got things to do this weekend, but on Monday I'll use my Trebian mail account to figure out how to create a collective folder on Google Drive. However, having your Google account name would help me if I need to add your name on a group or something. If you got another idea, just tell me.

Actually, I know how to get around Google Drive perfectly. So if you haven't already set it up, I'll have it set up in a few moments, and send you the link to contribute via a PM on the microwiki forums.
Here's this weeks research topics: Sir Benedict: articles on the workings of current world economies. King Paolo: This week, just focus on getting what you already have in there. But if you want to do more, then knock yourself out with science and engineering. King Oscar: writings from the Church Fathers. King George (or is it Constantine? Sorry I forget): find articles comparing various languages. Mallanor (Sorry I can't remember your actual name): articles on plant and animal life. Secretaryofstate: articles on history of the early Church I'll try and find that website I mentioned earlier, as well as articles on the history of Renaissance Europe.
I would like it if you could all find at least three articles on each topic I assigned you. If you finish that and want to do more, you can either choose yourself or ask me. If you think somebody else should be assigning the topics, just say who, and as long as they're regular about it, I'd be fine with that.
Here are a couple tips: if you're searching specifically for pdf files, type "filetype:pdf" before the key words. If you want to limit your search to academic essays, type "website:.edu" before the key words. Hope this all helps! I'll be sending all of you a link to the Google Drive folder we'll use (unless Paolo hasn't done it first!).

Actually, I know how to get around Google Drive perfectly. So if you haven't already set it up, King George (or is it Constantine? Sorry I forget) If I remember correctly, his birth name is George, and his royal name is Constantine Mallanor (Sorry I can't remember your actual name) King Connor However, I don't know if we still have contact with them. I would suggest trying to mail them and inviting them in the library.

Hey, I thought of a protocol rule
When uploading PDF files to our Drive, use a prefix in the file's language like [Español] [English] [Latinum] in the following format:
[Language prefix]File name.pdf
On more news, I have started uploading my own works to give us a strong base

I was just about to suggest the same thing, when I saw you already had that for all your files. Its a good idea, and will certainly help to organize the library, along with other benefits.

Yes, and just to point out, the names of the languages should be autoglotonyms (in the same language) So you don't write [Spanish] but [Español] not [Inglés] but [English]

Right-o. Also, I found that Latin website: www.thelatinlibrary.com/index.html It's contents are far more expansive than I thought, covering a great many authors. I simply put the link in a word document in a new file I created called "Website links." If we find anything else like this, we should leap at the opportunity.

I also have a list of youtube channels worth subscribing to, or saving their videos on a playlist. I would not reccomend downloading these videos and putting them in the Drive. It is a waste of storage space considering youtube already does that for us. Maybe one day when we own a private server... Anyways, I shared a link with that list on the Drive.

Btw, I did email George and Connor when we first started, but I haven't received any reply. It would be wonderful if they came back, but I can't seem to get in touch with them.

Alright!
Well I have shared a lot of content but I am not finished yet. Also, I am trying to make myself a standard military uniform at the moment. Along the flag, it is another sewing project. I will send pictures when I'm done.

I'm having an issue at the moment.
I have a collection of downloaded pictures of buildings and plans on Urbanism (Urban design) and architecture, however, there are lots of files, so I can't upload them file by file. Is there a way to upload the entire folder to the Drive?

I think you should just be able to drag the folder into the Drive. Usually works for me. If for some reason it doesn't, I'll try a few things and see what works.
Think now's a good time to post the link on the microwiki forums so everyone can just view what's in there? That was part of the plan, anyway. Everyone of us that needs to edit should still be able to do so. Also, they can mention what all they think should go in the library as well, which would help, I think.
