Greetings Brothers! In these months, I've been doing lots of work. I got a sketch book with personal works on Urban Planning, Design and Architecture. Feel free to check it! Planning of the Capital CityThis is my work for the Trebian capital city. It is done in spanish, but it is easily visible and easy to translate with a translater online or a wordbook. This is not what I totally expect after Trebia secedes and we build our city, and I'm open to changes, that is why I did the work in pencil. Cathedral of TrebiaPlans of the Cathedral of Trebia. Front view of the Cathedral of Trebia. The Cathedral is perhaps my most ambitious project. We are not sure of the name but out of these two: - St. Paul of Trebia
- Our Lady of Trebia
My citizens seem to prefer the latter, so now we are competence for the "Notre Dame de Paris".
Government Palace of TrebiaThe front view of the Palace, as I imagine it. Plans of the Government Palace. The Government Palace of Trebia has many inspirations from buildings from antiquity. From Medieval European, to Ancient Greek and Byzantine architecture, I have used, among many examples, my best reference has been the Aachen Palace, built during the reign of Charlemagne.

One thing is for sure, if you're ever able to pull off building your city, it'll be beautiful.
I especially like your cathedral design; for some reason, I've always loved gothic architecture. I just have one question: why isn't your cathedral facing east? Although they stopped doing this in modern times, traditionally most churches faced east so that when mass was celebrated on the main altar, the celebrant would face ad orientem--to the east--as a symbol that the glorified Christ was like the rising sun, bringing light to the world. It's a symbol that is not used very often in the modern liturgy, but it is one that I think is very powerful. It's just a suggestion; your cathedral will be beautiful no matter what direction it faces.

Thanks. As you can see, I didn't finish uploading my posts. Also, how did you know my Cathedral was facing west? Did you see it on the city plan? You're very clever indeed . Well, I am not worried about the direction my Cathedral faces because: - You may not be leaving the mass facing East, but you are receiving the whole Mass facing East. As well, when Christ ascended to Heaven, the disciples traveled west, to Rome. Since the Eucharist repeats the Passion, Death and Resurrection of Jesus Christ, then it makes sense to build the Church the other way.
- Either side, the Earth is round, so if you are looking west, your sight is going all the way around. The problem would be if you are facing North or South .
And thank you for your compliment. As well, I need to show you my other works.
National Library
The front look of the National Library, as I imagine it. The Plans of the National Library. The National Library of Trebia will be another ambitious project. The dome-capped room to the far right of the plans will feature 5 or 6 floors full of bookshelves. The central square room will feature 2 floors of bookshelves plus a Café and a Computer room. Anyone can publish their literary works. The National Library will gladly print the copies, put them for sale, and as people buy them, half the income goes to the Library (and government) and half goes to the author of the book. House Designs
These designs are presets for traditionally designed houses and apartments out of my imagination and based off other structures I find "traditional enough" to suit my needs. Basically I look extreme beauty even in private property. I need my city to be as attractive as possible to the kind of people I would like to join Trebia. The designs are presets, and minor changes such as materials, designs of windows and doors could be made. Residence presets 1 - 4 Residence presets 5 - 9 Residence presets 10 - 13 Windows
I have not designed much windows yet, but what I did here may be worth a look. Traditional windows for residences. These two will not be the only allowed window styles. I just need some time to design more. Some ideas I had on Church window designs. So that's it this time, I hope you like it.

These are wonderful, Paolo! Maybe you should have been an architect instead of a king. But then again, the king is a kind of architect, in that he designs the nation, builds it so that it may stand for millenia, but nearly unchanged.

By the way, Benedict, all Eastern churches are still built facing the East. It's a tradition we haven't lost. Unfortunately, our home chapel (which is quite nice) faces West, but there's no other room in the house that's half as good to put it in.

I made more designs in this recent time Bank (incomplete) and marketplace
The National Bank's design isn't complete over yet. It will be owned by the State, although I'd allow private owned Banks to exist of course. Long live the free market. In the other side, you can see the marketplace. All stores will be privately owned. The Government will build sites for shops and then sell the plots to private owners. The Government will also provide basic seminaries on how to run private business, possibly for free, or for small fees. House designs Window and door designs
I've made two pages for window and door designs. One of them is in the houses designs, because they all fell in the same photo. The other one is below.

New designs for you to see and me to share! First of all, you should take a look at my architectural tribute to our Order, a Castle whose ownership will be shared exclusively between EOST and the Trebian Government. Possibly paid with funding from the Order, or donations. (I do not want to employ tax money on this project, since it won't benefit all of the population, just EOST members). Here you can see a depiction of the frontal side of the Castle. I intend to make a classical square keep design with 4 towers, one in each corner. The Towers will have three stories (there are windows on the upper 2 stories). And the keep itself will have 2 stories, and like the towers, the first story will lack windows. There will be a big wooden door in the entrance, and above it, the flag of our Order will hang, and in the sides, two Trebian flags hanged vertically. Not that elaborate for now, but these are the Castle blueprints. The entrance and front side of the Castle is located on the bottom side in the blueprints. The work was done in Spanish but I'll use a small chart to translate it for you. In English you will read the room. As a reference I will put the name of the room in Spanish in parenthesis so you can look for it in the blueprints. Story
| Bottom/front side
| Top/back side
| Left side
| Right side
| First story
| Hall (Sala)
| Kitchen and dining room (Cocina y comedor)
| Barracks (Cuartel)
| Chapel (Capilla)
| Second story
| Library (Biblioteca)
| Sleeping quarters (Alojamiento)
| Office (Oficina)
| Sleeping quarters (Alojamiento)
|
Moreover, in the center you will find a gardens (jardín). A brief description of every room: - Hall: got no particular idea for this side of the Castle. I thought maybe of some room where people can sit or something. Maybe a place to receive visitors, where you have to put your weapon in custody and expect to meet Order members in Trebia.
- Library: a special place, all the knowledge that the Order needs, will be stored in this library. Every member of the Order have access to it, either to borrow books or maybe even to study. I don't think I'll have to give permission to common citizens to access the library since the Government will invest taxpayer money on a public library for common citizens.
- Kitchen and Dining room: pretty much self explanatory. Here the Order Knights may appoint a cook or two to provide nourishment to the Knights.
- Sleeping quarters: Two rooms with a couple bunk beds, for Knights to sleep if they are in service as soldiers or spiritual retirement as monks. I thought on the possibility of putting a TV in every room, but I won't if it is indeed distracting for Knights.
- Barracks: a place for Knights to exercise and train in combat, dedicated to our possible military branch.
- Office: a place where the accounts of the Order's expenses is managed, as well as the mail the Order may receive.
- Chapel: a place for Knights to pray and enrich spiritually. A priest may be appointed to celebrate Mass if possible. Since the local Trebian government will be theocratic, we should try providing one.
- Garden: located in the center of the Keep, as a place to provide some life to the whole Castle. It can also serve as shortcut between rooms, instead of going all the way via the Keep walls.
- Towers: I haven't really thought on any function the towers may provide. Maybe a small bunker could be built underneath the Castle as some other bunkers I've planned in case of invasion, and the towers connect to it. Another option is to make the bottom stories of towers places of storage, and the top stories places for lookout, again, in case of invasion or another special occasion.
To finish the post, here's a design of my own residence, as well as a description
I do not want to add much luxury. As a King, I'm not definitively like Louis XVI. I'm a practical man, like Charlemagne
For the rooms, I thought on some, here's a list:
- A room for me and my wife, the Queen of Trebia (sadly I'm single yet , so I don't know who she is [perhaps she'll love my humor a lot ]).
- A couple rooms for my future children
- A bathroom or two
- An office, with a small private library and a telescope next to my window
- A workshop to do some carpentry and metalworking, as well as keeping my chemistry lab
- A kitchen and a dining room
- A living room
Additionally, I want to have a plot next to my residence to grow corn and potatoes as well as to raise sheep.
And that's all folks, stay tuned in for more pleasing architecture!
I somehow found out how to swap the direction of the Cathedral taking in mind surrounding structures and terrain. So Our Lady of Trebia is designed Ad Orientem now! I must say that I didn't know that it was a tradition to build Cathedrals facing East.

I must say, Paolo, if and when your capital is built, I think I'll visit quite often!

I must say, Paolo, if and when your capital is built, I think I'll visit quite often! Thanks! I'll take in mind visiting Fingland too. I'll put copies of Finglandish literary work in my library too! I hope, however, that decent architecture doesn't translate into an expensive cost of life.

I'm sure there's some way to circumnavigate that.
