In Quailia, we have the following article as part of our Constitution:
This law was written to recognize the role of marriage in society and to define marriage in a way that it couldn't be corrupted. Although it could be construed to authorize the Imperial Government to license marriages, that was not the intention; within Quailian culture marriage is a personal, cultural and religious matter, not a civil one.
What are the marriage laws like in your nations? If you do have any marriage laws, do they license marriages or just recognize them?

Well, Trebia's stance on marriage is similar to Quailia's. But we have an extra: even if couples can separate, they cannot divorce. Why? Marriage is based on children, not love, therefore, as soon as the kids are born or are adopted, both parents have the duty to raise them. And even if children aren't born yet, both spouses made the promise to bring them to this world. So when they accept, it's too late to turn back This idea of banning divorce doesn't disturb me, because, I am the son of divorced parents. I saw them fight when I was a kid. They forgot to spend time with me because they were fighting. And then they separated, and then they "divorced". My parents are still raising me and my siblings. They aren't divorced in my terms. And yet, they have to see each other every time there is an issue with me or my siblings that concern them both. They may live in separate houses now, but they aren't divorced, because they are still doing their job as parents. We don't have this in our Constitution, because we don't have a Constitution yet. We want to wait to the day we declare our Independence. But meanwhile, I am looking at other constitutions, and if I can know where to find a copy of the Quailian constitution, I'd be thankful.

The Quailian constitution can be found at quailia.org/constitution.pdf. Quailian law makes no mention of divorce, but seeing as the majority of Quailians are catholic, it is likely that divorce would not be accepted unless the marriage was canonically annulled.
