So, I had an idea yesterday. Using my position in SkillsShare, I could possibly request an advertisement for EOST in either RadioMicro or the Hastings Telegraph or both. My reason for this is mainly because it's really hard to find Catholic micronationalists on the microwiki forums, and also to just spread the word further. If there are any drawbacks to this idea, please tell me, so I can have a full idea of just and exactly what I would be getting into here. Tell me your thoughts on this.

Seems nice. We need to grow in numbers, and although I'm not recruiting people for Trebia via the Internet yet, I may do so in the future, so it helps. I'd look for Spanish speaking, Catholic conservatives to join thy cause!
For now, having members in the Order seems nice. We should also get Church blessing sometime. And physical presence.

Hey, I don't speak Spanish! The latter two goals can definitely be helped by the first: having more members. The more dedicated people we have, the more likely we'll have physical presence and Church blessing.

I agree about having more members; I'll see what I can do to reach out to more micronationalists.
What kind of physical presence were you thinking of, Paulus?
And as far as a formal blessing is concerned: the Church does not recognize the existence of micronations nor approve of micronational activities, so there is a near zero chance that we will get a formal blessing.

Which is odd, because we are trying to help. With physical presence, I refer to the possibility of having stuff like, HQ Buildings, real life meetings, monetary funding... A particular idea I got is to divide EOST in regions. You and Christopher could lead the branch "EOST in North America", I could be in charge of the branch "EOST in Central America", Oscar could be in charge of "EOST in South America". Just some ideas.

Which is odd, because we are trying to help. It is unfortunate, but that's just the way it is. Maybe it will happen if one of us gains macronational recognition, but until then we're on our own as far as formal support from the Church is concerned. However, we still might get support and blessings from individual clerics. I'm working up the courage to ask one of my priest uncles to join the Order and become our Prelate. I'm just waiting for the right time to ask him. Wow, it would be wonderful if we could ever get those kind of resources. But now that you mention it, maybe there is something we can do right now to get a physical presence. Here in Capital District there is an empty room that we normally use for storage. The only door to this room is from the outside, so from the outside it looks less like a room at a house and more like a small apartment. Maybe we could designate that as our headquarters. It's not much, but I have been saving it for when I needed a symbolic office for some micronational agency, and I think it will serve that purpose quite nicely. What do y'all think?

I like that idea. Yay, we have a headquarters now!

What exactly do you mean by this? I would hate to go against something the Church teaches, and would like to know what it says on micronationalism.

I just meant that the Church, like the vast majority of people and institutions in the world, has not even recognized the existence of micronationalism, much less gotten to the point that they're willing to condone it in any way. Micronationalism is not strictly against the teachings of the Church, but it's so obscure and so meddled with other controversial topics that most people wouldn't support it, including most clerics. Getting any kind of blessing, much less the papal blessing that would make us "official", is not going to be easy to get.

Ah, I see. That's what I thought. There's a micronation out there for every conceivable political ideology, and even some of the inconceivable ones.

Indeed.
Well, I suppose blessings from individual clerics should work. I also should try and invite my friends into the Order, and making accounts here. The problem is, I am the most "active" to say the least. (In other words, my friends aren't fans of forums). I need to find the correct people and it's going to be difficult. Why you say? Well, we need Head Quarters for "EOST in Central America" right?

When we have more knights in Central America. I think that needs to happen first.

If there is a suitable building/apartment/room that you have in mind, it might be nice for the Order to have a central American office. One of these days I'll take a picture of our new headquarters so you can know what it looks like.
And Paulus, being active on the forums is not a requirement for membership in the Order. It's very helpful, but our movement is primarily one of the spirit. The more people we can rally for our cause, the better.
