Just out of curiosity, do any of your guys' micronations have political parties? If so, what function do they serve? Quailia used to have political parties but they became inactive long ago, and now we're thinking about bringing them back.

Since we are an Absolute Monarchy, political parties in Trebia are banned. Conservative Catholic politics are controlled by the Monarch. Therefore, you must be a Catholic Conservative to have the right to join the aristocracy. And if you are caught in corruption then say goodbye to your place as Senator. And half your properties, which shall be expropriated and given to the poor.

I was about to say that it sounds pretty harsh to ban all political parties outright, but it actually makes sense in your case. You're trying to create a state around a specific philosophy (in this case catholic conservatism). At this stage in your development, a movement with a contrary philosophy could ruin that foundation. And besides, if people don't like your political system, they can just not join Trebia in the first place.
In Quailia, we take a more liberal and democratic approach to politics. I use "democratic" loosely, as the citizens hardly ever actually vote. That's part of the reason why I'm considering using political parties to fire up the voter base and encourage them to be less apathetic.

In Mallanor, there are three political parties. They were made by me, and they are there just to be there I guess. However, no one has objected to them, and I think their opinion is that they are useful, so I will keep them as they are for now.
