Now that the Order is 5 days old, I think it is time to cement what symbols we will use to represent us. I made this flag thing when I made the forum so I had something to put in the header, and I must say I'm partial to it: Sir Christopher also created a logo that we could possibly use: And today I had some time to kill, so I came up with this: These are just a few of the options we have before us; we are only limited to our imaginations (well, that and our graphic design capability). So I wanted to get your guys' opinions. How many logo variants should we have? What should the theme of them be? What symbols should they include? Should we work with the above examples or should we scratch everything and start afresh? The logos we use to represent us will be very important in how we are seen by outsiders, so your input will be very helpful!

I do believe we are on the right track with these logos, so I don't think we should start over. I think we should limit ourselves to one main logo, to avoid confusion, but we could also do one flag and a seal of some sort. One of the most important symbols that we should use is the cross. It is the universally recognizable symbol of Catholicism. As for themes, I'm not really sure, but if I think of anything, I'll be sure to post it here.

I agree that the cross should play a part no matter what we decide to go with. For the moment let's continue using the first one, but let's all continue to think about it. Maybe the perfect logo will come to one of us in a vision or something

Now that would be great, wouldn't it? But I think another symbol we should use is something to designate our devotion to Thomas More. Don't really know what that would be, perhaps the chain that designated his political position?

Well, I included an axe on the shield I made that represents the way he died (beheading). I'll see what I can do about the chain.

I suddenly had an idea. You could say it hit me as I gazed meditatively on the many different variations of the cross. Unfortunately I have not the computing skill to actually make the logo I had in mind, but I can describe it to you. Use the Canterbury cross, and set in the square in the middle the shield you worked up. That might be the logo we're looking for.

I didn't know about the Canterbury cross until now and I must say that I like its style! Is this what you were thinking? And how about this as a more formal coat of arms?

Don't know what's going on (could be those !?#@&%@*! North Korean rodents) but I can't view those pictures in your last post.

So now that we've had a chance to think about it, what do you guys think? I personally think we should go with this one myself, but that's just personal preference.

I agree with you, I think the Maltese cross looks appropriate behind the shield. The Canterbury cross in the background looks a bit too much like the focal point. I will also place my vote on the shield2 file.

Ya know, I can't see any of these, but I'm sure they're absolutely spiffin'.

Okay, then let's go with sheild2 as our main logo.
