I was wondering today why EOST has no uniform for it's knights yet. I'm not sure if this has been brought up before, but I think it would be good for the Order to have a particular uniform that people can easily recognize it by. Any suggestions, questions, or other thoughts?

I've dreamed that the EOST would one day have a uniform. In my experience, nothing can bring a movement together or add a sense of professionalism better than a good uniform. And besides, it would make us look cool. Something like the uniform of the Order of the Holy Sepulcher would be ideal. However, there are obviously reasons against adopting a uniform. Uniforms are expensive. I don't know about you all, but I don't really have the money to buy myself a uniform that would do the Order justice. There might be an inexpensive way to either make or piece together uniforms, but until we figure that out this is a serious problem. Also, in order to make any uniform worth it, there would have to be places and events where we could wear them. We don't have any real-life events. If we did, a uniform might be more practical. Now this is not to say that we'll never have them. Far from it. I just don't see it as practical in this stage of our development.

Yeah, I suppose I did bring this up kinda early, didn't I?

And even if we already had real life events and gatherings, I think that a pin displaying our Order's emblem on our micronation's respective military uniforms could do.
Uniforms are more for armed forces. Maybe we could use them for our military branch I suggested before?

I agree with Paolo's idea of placing some sort of identification on the uniform of our own nation. It could be a medal, a ribbon, or even a sash

In addition to that, I have recently received a sewing machine. Once I figure out how to use it, I could make some sashes up, if that seemed like a good idea. I imagine it as something that would go on whatever micronational uniform we have.

It's just an idea, but I suppose we may need funding for materials and shipping. Dang it, we will have sashes eventually! We must!

However that will be very costly. Dang it, we will have sashes eventually! We must! I may make my own sash if necessary. Just tell the the parameters, and I take care of it.

What I mean is that one or more of us can make them, then ship them to the rest of the members who can't make theirs.

Yes, that will do.

Yes, I like the idea! I'm always looking for ways to spruce up my micronational uniform. Unlike medals, sashes are inexpensive and relatively easy to make, and they look quite dashing. If this is something y'all will like to do, we can make it official. I think we should make our sashes green and wear them from the right shoulder to the left hip, but what do y'all think?
As for construction, Quailian sashes have always been made from 2" satin blanket binding, which is both inexpensive and can be found in most fabric stores. You just cut the material to the appropriate length, open it up, then sew the ends across each other. I model the finished product in my profile picture. As you can see, this method produces good results and is fairly easy to undertake.

Would it make sense to make them multiple colors if possible? Maybe we could make them the colors of the flag

Half Green, Half White, with Yellow borders on both sides and the Cross somewhere. I found this as well. How to make a beret, useful for Trebian etiquette. I'll make sure to purchase dark red cloth right away!

We can have multiple colors, certainly, but every color we add makes it harder to sew. Since I'm not going to be sewing any of these, I'll leave the decision up to y'all. Is the added panache that comes with extra colors worth the extra work?
If the answer is yes, then I just came up with the idea that we could color code the sashes according to rank. For example, Knights could have green sashes, Knights Commander could have green and white sashes, Knights Commander with Star could have green, white and gold sashes, and Knights Grand Cross could have green, white, gold and red sashes.
I like where this conversation is going, let's keep brainstorming!
